Since finishing college I have amassed a great deal of images - Images which I feel still could be developed further through different avenues of experimentation. In light of this, I have explored the various photoshop assets which are available online, collated them, and tried my hand at using them in conjunction with my concurrent methods of abstracting a piece. One of my favourite ways of completely evolving a photograph is making use of symmetry through mirroring, which is present in the first adaptation above. Prior to this however, I made use of a displacement on the image, not once, but multiple times. This is what achieves the recurring glitch like artefacts which I think are very aesthetically interesting, as well as all of the minor details.

After doing this to this one piece, I thought: why not take it a step further? This is where it got interesting for me. I wasn't so pleased with the outcome of the final image of my "The Illustrated World" series, so I decided to try merge it with the piece I had just produced. After some experimenting with blending options, contrast, and some quick masking, I believe the result to be very successful. I love the dark to light gradient, and how to helps in contrasting the delineation between the natural shape of the eye and the harsh geometry it follows in to. My one gripe with the outcome however would be with some of the minor details surrounding the center of the eye not quite blending into the background image as much as I would have liked. If I were to repeat this, I would take extra care to make sure this looks undoubtedly as if it were one piece, not two which were blended together.
